Uber Freight and Aurora to Democratize Driverless Trucks for Carriers of All Sizes (Official Announcement)

Uber Freight and Aurora Innovation (NASDAQ: AUR) are launching Premier Autonomy, a new program providing early access to over 1 billion of Aurora’s driverless miles to Uber Freight carriers through 2030. The program is the latest in their longstanding partnership to integrate and deploy autonomous trucks on the Uber Freight network to enable carriers of all sizes to improve utilization and enhance business efficiency through autonomous technology.

Uber Freight and Aurora Innovation have announced a multi-year collaboration that will see Aurora’s autonomous driving technology offered on the Uber Freight network through 2030. The deal gives Aurora access to shipping customers as it prepares to launch its fully driverless commercial service later this year.

Waymo opens its driverless robotaxi service to anyone in S.F. (San Francisco Chronicle)

Anyone can now hail a driverless Waymo robotaxi in San Francisco. The autonomous vehicle company announced Tuesday that its driverless ride-hailing service in the city is no longer limited to people who’ve been approved off a waitlist. Users can hail a Waymo robotaxi through the company’s Waymo One app like they would an Uber or a Lyft ride-hail.
